About
Jeremy D. Bonfiglio is an award-winning writer who has held staff positions at U.S. newspapers in Ohio, Colorado, California, Wyoming, Arizona, Indiana and Michigan. In a professional journalism career that spans 19 years and counting, he has reported on complex issues such as how traumatic brain injuries can go undetected and why the nation’s closed captioning system is failing the deaf community. He’s spent a night out with a pizza delivery driver, covered a prom for special needs teens, and was buried under 5 feet of snow for a first-person account detailing how search and rescue dogs are used to sniff out avalanche victims.
As an entertainment writer specializing in film, television and music, Jeremy has interviewed a wide range of high-profile celebrities — from Billy Bob Thornton to Kid Rock. He is currently the staff features writer at The Herald-Palladium newspaper in Saint Joseph, Michigan, where he covers arts and entertainment and pens long-form Sunday features on a wide variety of topics.
In addition to his staff work, Jeremy is a dedicated freelancer, writing news and features on the visual and performing arts, sports, higher education, health, travel and technology. His work has appeared in The Writer, Notre Dame Magazine, Chicago Tribune, Arizona Republic, Fort Worth Star-Telegram, Rocky Mountain Sports and American Hockey magazine.
Jeremy earned his bachelor’s degree in journalism from Eastern Kentucky University, and currently lives in South Bend, Indiana, with his wife, Karyn, and their son, Billy.
